HARDA Events

The Horn of Africa Relief and Development Agency of Australia (HARDA) promotes active involvement by both the Afro-Australian and mainstream communities.

HARDA invites you to attend these events and support our aims and objectives - to promote active Australian support for relief and development projects in the Horn of Africa countries and to support the successful settlement of African refugees in Australia.

We look forward to seeing everyone at this wonderful event. All are welcome, the barbecue is free and there will be lots of activities and entertainment. Our special guest will be that great role model Hazem El Masri who will lead the 5 on 5 touch football competition. 
 

Every Mon & Tues @10am

Sudanese Men’s Education Program

This free program provides men help at all levels with their written and oral English and computer skills. Come join us at HARDA’s premises as participant or volunteer.

2009 NSW Refugee Humanitarian Awards

Congratulations to both Carmel Clark and Hassan Omar who were both presented with humanitarian awards by STARTTS & Refugee Council of Australia.  Carmel recieved the Volunteer of the Year Award while Hassan posthumously  recieved a Lifetime Acheivement Award in acknowledgement of his extraordinary efforts in supporting refugees, advocating for human rights and building an inclusive society.

2008 Cultural night

Once again HARDA held their annual Horn of African Cultural Night which was a night of fun and socialising, showcasing successful settlement as well as cultural heritage.

June 2008

HARDA conducted a 2½ day camp at the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation’s Milson Island venue on the Hawkesbury River with 29 HoA girls.

May 2008

Boys DIAC Mangrove Mountain camp

HARDA conducted a five day Camp and Citizenship Project at the Mangrove Mountain Resort for 37 teenage boys from the Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea and Ethiopia
