This pilot project’s aim is to foster cross cultural understanding, racial & religious tolerance through a student interchange program. The project involved matching or pairing a group of Horn of Africa (HoA) refugee students attending (or who recently attended) Evans Intensive English Centre with a group of high school students from a Narooma, small costal NSW town avbout 350 km south of Sydney and both schools undertaking exchange visits.
The first half of the project was completed in early May when a group of 16 HoA refugee students from Evans IEC spent a very successful school week visiting Narooma High School and ther students.
